Year 6 English Folio/2008 (Literature Part 1) Book Review
The story Clever Katya, by Julia Donaldson, is set during the region of the Czar of Russia. It revolves around how Katya cleverly convinces the Czar of her love for him. The story begins with how the Czar of Russia met Katya's father who in turn introduces to him his clever daughter, Katya. They soon fall in love. However their relationship is put to the test when Katya is asked to leave the palace. Finally, Katya did something which eventually convinces the Czar of her love for him. The part which interests me is when the Czar gaved the three different tests to Katya and how she cleverly solves them. The book is interesting because of the character, Katya who is not only clever but loving and sincere in her actions. The value of the book also lies in that it shows us we need to be sincere in our relationships and not have other bad motives such as material gain when we build relationships. I will strongly recommend this interesting book to my friends.
